BYU Broadcasting's Content Development and Writing Team is a highly selective student-driven content development program led by a seasoned team of industry professionals. Selected applicants will work as part of a student writing team under the direct supervision and guidance of a professional television writer and content executives from BYUtv and BYUradio. The first room is set to start work at the beginning of winter semester. While a new writers' room will convene each semester, the opportunity for participation by qualified students is expected to be ongoing.

(Internship credit available.) Student will be responsible for writing, organizing, and coordinating the promotional material for up to 16 BYU performing groups (Young Ambassadors, Vocal Point, etc.). Student will be responsible for writing news releases and newsletters, coordinating brochure production, social media content, and designing flyers.

Y Magazine—BYU’s quarterly publication for alumni, students, and friends of the university—offers paid editorial internships for students who are creative, teachable, hard working, dependable, and committed to working as entry-level journalists. Interns at Y Magazine get published, work in a professional atmosphere, and get experience in writing, editing, research, web publishing, social media, and some of the backend, business aspects of putting out a magazine. It’s a varied and fun opportunity.

The College of Humanities Digital Media and Communications Office is now hiring for two student writer/editor positions. Both positions are paid, qualify for internship credit (talk to the internship coordinator), and give students real-world publishing, writing, and editing experience helping to create the Humanities Alumni magazine and produce digital content.

BYU Public Health is looking for a dynamic individual to join our publicity team. As a member of the publicity team you will have the opportunity to conduct interviews with various faculty, staff, students, and alumni to write engaging news articles for our website and yearly magazine publication. You will help with creating social media posts in static, real, and video formats. You will also help with recording and editing episodes for our podcast Y-Health. This position will gain experience across all aspects of marketing, ranging from social media management and digital ads to video/audio creation and editing to content strategy. This is a 10-20 hours per week position and the hours are flexible.

BYU Brand & Creative, which provides editorial and design services for the university, is offering a paid editorial internship for a student who is diligent, dependable, teachable, and committed to working as a professional, entry-level editor. Interns at Brand & Creative can expect to contribute by editing, proofreading, writing, and source checking for a variety of projects from across campus—weekly devotional addresses, college alumni magazines, fundraising materials and others. BYU Brand & Creative tells BYU’s story to the world. Our BYU Speeches properties have high audience engagement rates, with more than 25 million accesses in 2022. This year we anticipate more than 28 million connections with our digital audience. We are hiring a student SEO Writer, Editor, and Social Media Specialist to help us share BYU Speeches with a wide audience. We offer great writing/editing mentoring and Spanish or Japanese speakers will get to be part of our language launch this summer. Apply by April 10.
