English Internships

The International Sibling Society (ISS), a 501(c)(3) charitable nonprofit with partnerships across 190+ countries, is seeking Grant Writing Interns to research, identify, and write compelling grant proposals using our new ISS Grant Management Platform — a purpose-built, AI-powered system that streamlines every stage of the grant lifecycle, from opportunity discovery to submission tracking.

This full-time internship is part of the Talent and Culture Team in the Family History Department (FHD) of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. You will play a key role in delivering internal communications and uplifting media content that strengthens department culture and employee engagement.

Founded in 1921, the Council on Foreign Relations (CFR) is a leading nonprofit membership organization, research center, and publisher, with headquarters in New York, an office in Washington, DC, and programs nationwide. It is dedicated to increasing America's understanding of the world and contributing ideas to U.S. foreign policy. CFR's 5,000+ members are leaders in international affairs and foreign policy. CFR also publishes Foreign Affairs, the preeminent magazine on global issues, and provides up-to-date information about the world and U.S. foreign policy on its award-winning website, CFR.org. (NOTE: This internship may qualify a student for participation in BYU's Washington Seminar program)

As part of the 2026 English Symposium, seven students shared their experiences completing the English+ requirement.

During the 2025 Utah Legislative Session, I was the intern for Representative Christofferson (D-53). I tracked his bills, organized meetings, and handled most of his correspondence. Throughout those seven weeks, I communicated with thousands of constituents across the state. These interactions taught me so much about writing professionally and acting with intention!

I worked primarily in the Trust's archive, responding to research enquiries, assisting with collections management, and doing independent research. Other tasks included assisting with public tours in Dove Cottage and working with outreach groups, such as universities on study abroad, during their visits to the Trust.
