Assistant Podcast Producer for Constant Wonder on BYUradio

Description of Duties

Producers will be responsible for working with teams to develop, research, and deliver live or pre-recorded programming. Brainstorm, pitch, find guests, and research and write content for radio/podcast that covers a wide range of material, from world history to NASA to wild animals. The job is fun but fast-paced. Students work with high degree of autonomy, but also accountability. Typically students in this position work 15 hours a week.

Radio Production Assistant (Top of Mind)

Description of Duties

The Radio Production Assistant works on a variety of projects that relate to the production for Top of Mind, a high-profile show on BYUradio. The position requires flexibility and an eagerness to learn new skills and a commitment to meet deadlines. The successful candidate will be responsible for working with other team members to deliver live or pre-recorded programming, including using excellent writing skills to prepare a setup for the interview that includes researching the topic and the guest.

Description of Duties

The student production assistant works on a variety of projects that relate to the production and the marketing of high-profile radio shows. Applicant should be flexible and have an eagerness to learn new skills, as the tasks will vary from day-to-day. The successful candidate will be responsible for working with teams to deliver live or pre-recorded programming. Duties include developing show content (finding and booking credible guests), assisting with show promotion as needed (via social media, etc.), assisting with guest relations, and writing scripts for broadcast.

2023 AFC Folklife Internship (Paid, Library of Congress)

This program offers participants insights into the environment and activities of the American Folklife Center, which pairs robust cultural programming with the world's largest ethnographic archive. Interns will be exposed to a broad spectrum of public programs and archives work: artist liaison, production, preservation, reference, access standards, and information management. Depending on the specific project they are assigned, interns will assist staff with coordinating and producing public programs; archival processing of special collections in many different formats; managing digital outreach activities and communications; or supporting reference and research activities. Near the end of their appointment at the Library, the interns will reflect on their projects and experiences by producing a blog post, as well as a presentation for AFC staff.

National Geographic Summer Internships (Remote)

Every year, the National Geographic Society provides a number of students with a paid opportunity to spend the summer exploring and learning with us. We offer a diverse range of dynamic internships that are designed to offer a well-rounded experience. Our goal is to provide engaging, educational, and work-related opportunities for both undergraduate and graduate students. The 2023 program will be remote. Students will be invited to our DC headquarters one week in June to attend one of our signature events.
