It is crucial to ensure that women's voices are heard and women leaders are fully engaged in key policy decisions. At WFPG, we advance women's leadership and highlight their contributions through international issues programs and mentoring. We believe that by highlighting women leaders in foreign policy, we provide important role models for the next generation and create a vital network of women from different sectors, generations, and backgrounds.

WFPG interns work as part of the WFPG team and are given the opportunity to improve their knowledge of international issues, learn how a small non-profit organization operates, and connect with accomplished women working in international affairs. Part-time interns who commit to 3.5 months (15 weeks) during the school year or three months (13 weeks) during the summer are eligible for a $900 stipend. Full-time interns who commit to 3.5 months (15 weeks) during the school year or three months (13 weeks) during the summer are eligible for an $1800 stipend.

Part-time internships are 20 hours per week and full-time internships are 40 hours a week. Office hours are 9 am-5 pm yet some events are held in the evening hours. All interns must be eligible to work in the United States as the WFPG is unable to sponsor visas.

Programs Internship: The WFPG is looking for responsible and motivated interns to focus on planning and outreach for programs with international affairs officials and experts. In addition to assisting with our programs, interns also research foreign policy topics before events, publish articles on events, and assist with membership outreach.

Communications Internship: WFPG is looking for specialized interns to focus on raising WFPG's visibility and maintaining its digital presence. The communications intern works closely with the Program Manager and Executive Director on the WFPG's website, social media, monthly digital newsletter, and print materials, as well as collaborating with programs interns on programming and event research. While some interns join us with previous web and social media skills, we also welcome applicants with an interest in developing these skills through their internship.

This internship qualifies participants to participate in BYU's Washington Seminar Program. Washington Seminar still has space available for fall semester and it’s not too early to be planning for winter semester.
