How You’ll Contribute

As an Assistant Podcast Producer, you will play a key role in shaping compelling audio experiences that reflect BYUradio’s mission. You’ll collaborate closely with a team of producers to brainstorm and pitch ideas, research fascinating topics, and help bring each episode from concept to broadcast. You’ll contribute to the creative process while also developing professional media production skills in a supportive and fast-paced environment. Students in this role typically work 15 flexible hours per week and are empowered to take ownership of their projects while being held to high standards of creativity and excellence.

What You’ll Do

  • Research, write, and develop content for episodes on a wide range of topics, including nature, history, art, medicine, science, and more
  • Brainstorm and pitch segment ideas in collaboration with the production team
  • Identify and book guests who bring diverse and expert perspectives
  • Assist in delivering pre-recorded programming
  • Help shape stories that are meaningful, original, and accessible to a wide audience

Compensation

  • $14/hour
  • Approximately 15 hours per week
  • Flexible shift scheduling
  • Possibility of pay raises
