English Internships

The Utah State Senate has two internship positions working with the minority party for the upcoming legislative session. These are full time, paid internships that run Jan-March 2026.

FamilySearch International, the largest genealogy organization in the world, is looking for full-time interns. These individuals will be involved in designing, planning, supporting, and carrying out experiences at RootsTech, in both the online and in-person aspects of the conference and supporting other FamilySearch events. RootsTech is an annual genealogy conference that hosts millions of people online in over 11 languages. The event is enhanced by in-person experience, at the Salt Palace Convention Center in Salt Lake City, Utah.

Apply by October 31 for Writing/Editing/Digital content internships with church magazines, YA Weekly, and Youth Social Media. These are great, PAID internships for Winter 2026.

I worked primarily in the Trust's archive, responding to research enquiries, assisting with collections management, and doing independent research. Other tasks included assisting with public tours in Dove Cottage and working with outreach groups, such as universities on study abroad, during their visits to the Trust.

As part of the 2023 English Symposium, seven students shared their experiences completing the English+ requirement. We had students talk about international, local, and Washington Seminar internships as well as experiences in ENGL 394 and the Research and Writing Center.
