We are seeking a detail-oriented, motivated Grant Writer who is passionate about disability advocacy, education equity, and community impact. The ideal candidate will identify, research, write, and submit grant proposals and assist with grant calendars, reporting, and funding strategy.
This role is perfect for students interested in nonprofits, social work, education, disability services, public policy, communications, English, business, or fundraising development.
Key Responsibilities
- Research federal, state, corporate, and private grant opportunities that align with our mission and programs
- Write, prepare, proofread, and submit grant proposals, letters of inquiry, and funding applications
- Maintain grant tracking systems, deadlines, and reporting requirements
- Assist with writing supporting documents such as program descriptions, budgets, case statements, impact narratives, and annual reporting
- Collaborate with leadership to refine messaging and program goals for grant alignment
- Support donor messaging and fundraising campaigns as needed
Preferred Skills & Qualifications
- Strong writing, research, and editing skills
- Ability to synthesize data and create compelling narratives
- Organizational skills, time management, and adherence to deadlines
- Interest or coursework related to nonprofit management, education, psychology, social services, or communications
- Previous writing, grant, or fundraising experience is helpful but not required
- Commitment to inclusion, disability awareness, and family-centered advocacy
