English Internships

Founded in 1995, Sutherland Institute is an independent research and educational institution – a think tank – whose mission is to equip Americans to advance principled public policy that promotes the constitutional values of faith, family and freedom. BYU Brand & Creative, which provides editorial and design services for the university, is offering a paid editorial internship for a student who is diligent, dependable, teachable, and committed to working as a professional, entry-level editor.

Utahns Against Hunger is offering a legislature-adjacent internship where students will engage in multiple aspects of the legislative process as they support the UAH team in pursuing policy changes and funding for local communities experiencing food scarcity.

I worked primarily in the Trust's archive, responding to research enquiries, assisting with collections management, and doing independent research. Other tasks included assisting with public tours in Dove Cottage and working with outreach groups, such as universities on study abroad, during their visits to the Trust.

As part of the 2023 English Symposium, seven students shared their experiences completing the English+ requirement. We had students talk about international, local, and Washington Seminar internships as well as experiences in ENGL 394 and the Research and Writing Center.
