Assistant PR Coordinator | External Relations | BYU College of Fine Arts and Communications

Job title: Assistant PR Coordinator
Hours: 20 hours a week
Pay rate: Depends on Experience

Job Description:

Part-time public relations coordinator for the External Relations Office of the College of Fine Arts and Communications (CFAC). Supports managers and other employees by providing administrative and campaign support and ensuring efficient operation of the office.

This position is ideal for students interested in boosting their portfolio and working in communications, public relations and marketing campaigns.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist with strategic planning and executing campaigns
  • Produce and distribute internal and external correspondence
  • Attend, run and take minutes at internal and external meetings
  • Assist the student external relations team (social media specialist, writers and web developers)
  • Organize and schedule meetings and appointments
  • Create newsletters and graphics
  • Draft and send emails to faculty, staff and students
  • Research and create presentations
  • Maintain and update workflows
  • Assist in the preparation of reports
  • Maintain digital and manual filing systems
  • Monitor invoices and other budget materials
  • Order office supplies

Qualifications:

  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Strong organizational and planning skills
  • Ability to handle confidential and time-sensitive material
  • Attention to detail
  • Ability to work with a team or individually
  • Ability to manage a team and their projects
  • Experience meeting deadlines and setting priorities
  • Ability to solve problems and offer solutions
  • Knowledge of office management systems and procedures
  • Longevity preferred – commitment of at least two semesters

Preferred:

  • One year of relevant experience
  • Knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite, specifically InDesign and Photoshop
  • Familiarity with editorial, social or web practices and procedures
  • Experience with WordPress
  • Experience with the arts
