The Church History Museum is pleased to announce a 40 hour-per-week, paid, curatorial summer internship from May 2024 until August 2024. The Church History Museum provides engaging experiences for individuals to connect with the history of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and the growing spiritual, artistic, and cultural legacies of its people.

The curatorial intern supports this mission by working with the artifacts curator one-on-one to research, write, and organize what we know about the museum’s collection. Specifically, the intern will help draft an artifacts acquisition guide that will be used by staff in the Church History Department. In doing that work, the intern will also learn more about material culture and the workings of a museum.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Responsibilities may vary by assignment depending on department and need. The Intern receives assignments from supervising staff. The Manager reviews the Intern's work occasionally. The supervisor reviews each assignment as it is completed. The Intern is expected to meet rigid and challenging deadlines, work in harmony with other people, take direction on each assignment, and give full attention to detail. Independence in working, tact, and diplomacy are required. Sound judgment of Church doctrine, history, organization, policy and protocol are also expected.
The ideal candidate
· Has excellent research and writing skills
· Can communicate their research through visually pleasing and efficient organization and design
· Has a solid understanding of Latter-day Saint history or desires to learn more
· Is able to work independently but also collaboratively with staff members
QUALIFICATIONS
Preferred:
Pursuing or recently graduated with a degree in the following field: art history, visual arts, humanities, history, or a related field
CURATORIAL: ART
The curatorial intern supports this mission by working with the art curator one-on-one to conduct research and develop exhibitions. A special project this season includes researching and organizing collection images so they can be used and shared with other church departments.

QUALIFICATIONS
Paid Interns are qualified while enrolled in an educational institution and for one year following graduation. They must sign a Paid Internship Engagement Letter.
Preference will be given to those pursuing or recently graduated with the following degree: art history, visual arts, humanities, history, or a related field.
