Village Book Builders is seeking passionate and innovative talent to boost our social media presence. As the Social Media Specialist Intern, you are crucial to Village Book Builders’ community engagement and impact. You will work closely with our marketing team to help develop brand awareness about our organization through social media. This position is an unpaid 12-15 week internship with a 15+ hours per week commitment.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead social content creation and management for Village Book Builders
  • Develop and schedule social media content for posting to attracts new users and engage current users.
  • Maintain unified brand voice across various social media platforms.
  • Increase brand awareness to help attract volunteers and potential donors.
  • Use social media traffic data to analyze what is and is not working, and reinforce or refocus key messages accordingly.
  • Interact with users and respond to social media messages, inquiries, and comments.
  • Other tasks as assigned

Qualifications:

  • Proficient knowledge of Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, Twitter and TikTok
  • Good understanding of metrics and SEO
  • Ability to perform audience research
  • Must currently be an undergraduate or graduate student in Marketing, Market Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, or related field.
  • Excellent Verbal and Written Communication Skills
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Ability to proactively develop and implement social media strategy
  • Experience with VSCO and Canva
  • Advanced organizational skills and ability to meet deadlines
  • Creative and Graphic Design skills.
