As a Writing Intern, you’ll learn the ins and outs of our company, receive personal guidance on what it takes to be a successful writer in marketing, and help the team create high-impact pieces that resonate with clients and drive action.
Responsibilities:
- Write, edit, and update marketing materials for financial advisors, insurance agents, retirement plan sponsors, and retirement plan participants
- Maintain Transamerica brand consistency throughout work to ensure corporate guidelines are met
- Assist the creative services team with creating, editing, and quality checking content
- Other duties as assigned based on needs
Learning Outcomes:
- Learn about financial services and the insurance industry
- Gain a deep understanding of writing in a brand voice
- Develop knowledge in creating effective copy for different mediums and audiences
- Grasp the importance of adhering to a style guide
Qualifications:
- Currently pursuing a degree in marketing, English, communications, social sciences, PR, and related degree programs at an accredited college or university. Internships are not available for students who have completed their college education or who will graduate prior to the conclusion of the internship
- Excellent writing and editing skills; knowledge of AP Style is desired.
- Open to constructive critique and having their work edited.
- Strong work ethic and willingness to learn is required
- Amazing attention to detail and passionate about the nuances of writing
- Strong communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently, take direction, and collaborate with cross-functional teams.
- Students must be able to work 40 hours per week over the 12 week summer period.

Rewards & Compensation:
By the time your internship concludes, you’ll have three to five real-world marketing pieces for your portfolio and the included experience to launch your career. In addition to gaining industry exposure and work on real-world projects, students gain access to intern exclusive events and networking opportunities throughout the summer while receiving a competitive compensation.
The hourly rate for this position generally ranges between $15.00-$18.00. This range is an estimate, based on preexisting standards, operational needs and other considerations permitted by law. The range may vary above and below the stated amounts, as permitted by Colorado Equal Pay Transparency Rule 4.1.2.
