Make-A-Wish® Utah has a couple of internship openings for this fall. They are looking for a Development Intern to gain experience in nonprofit fundraising, relationship building, donor research and portfolio management. They are also seeking a Marking/Communications Intern to work on writing, PR and other major projects in a fun team environment.

Marketing/Communications Internship

RESPONSIBILITIES

Reporting to the Marketing Manager, the Marketing & Communications intern will have the following responsibilities:

  • Maintaining social media channels for the organization
  • Edit and update website
  • Compose press releases and PSAs
  • Research and write stories about wishes
  • Assist with media campaigns for various promotions & fundraisers
  • Manage media lists and community calendars
  • Provide photography and videography support as needed

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Excellent writing and editing skills
  • Attention to detail
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office and social media platforms
  • Basic knowledge of design software (e.g. Adobe Illustrator, InDesign and Photoshop, etc.), or willingness and aptitude for learning new programs

HOURS

  • 12-15 hours per week, flexible schedule

Development Internship

RESPONSIBILITIES

Reporting to the Development team, the development intern will have the following responsibilities:

  • Support the team with fundraising activities including donor research, organizing meeting materials and preparing stewardship pieces.
  • Assist with the planning of donor cultivation events.
  • Maintain up-to-date development documents.
  • Record contact reports in database.
  • File documents, organize supplies and perform any other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Excellent writing and editing skills
  • Interpersonal relationship management skills
  • Attention to detail
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office and social media platforms
  • Basic knowledge of design software, or willingness and aptitude for learning new programs
