We are seeking a Technical Writer Intern with a true passion for writing and a desire to make an impact in their next role. The selected candidate will produce high-quality public-facing and internal documentation that contributes to the overall success of our products. This person will report directly to Debra Dubuque, Senior Manager of Customer Support, and will work closely with all members of our Community team.

Primary Responsibilities

    • Play a key role in revamping our public help center
    • Write intuitive public help center and internal knowledge base articles
    • Collaborate with internal teams to obtain an in-depth understanding of the platform and documentation requirements
    • Meet with subject-matter experts to ensure specialized topics are appropriately addressed
    • Produce high-quality documentation that meets applicable standards and is appropriate for intended audiences
    • Improve the effectiveness of existing and potential content using data analysis and customer feedback
    • Determine the clearest and most logical way to present information for greatest reader comprehension

    Qualifications

      • Ability to deliver high-quality, well-structured technical content 
      • Ability to quickly grasp concepts and make them easily understandable in text and pictures
      • Excellent written skills in EnglishHigh level of attention to detail
      • Time management and organizational skills
      • Great research skills
      • Understanding of advanced formatting and grammar

      Energy Pathway Internship (PAID)

      The Utah Office of Energy Development (OED) is seeking an Energy Pathways Intern to join the State Energy Program (SEP) team. The intern will help advance energy initiatives throughout the state of Utah via education, collaboration, research, and outreach. OED’s mission is to advance Utah's energy and mineral economy to ensure affordable, reliable, and sustainable energy for Utahns by supporting the Governor’s vision of energy in the state. The ideal candidate has strong skills in writing, research, and collaboration as well as a desire to effect positive change on the energy landscape in the state. Interns will report to the State Energy Program Manager. This position will work 20 hours per week and will be paid $15 per hour for a term not to exceed 4 months.
