CLOSED US Speedskating Social Media Internship (July start)

US Speedskating in Kearns, Utah is accepting applications for our 2025 Social Media & Content Creation Internship. The internship runs from approximately July 1st through September 30th, with a successful intern receiving the opportunity to extend through the ’25 - 26 competition season as part of our social team for the 2026 Winter Olympics. This is a unique opportunity to work with Olympians in an Olympic year. This is a part-time, temporary position. This position works in the USS National Office and Training Center, located at the Utah Olympic Oval in Kearns, Utah.

The position supports staff and athletes for the Long Track and Short Track National Team and international teams and interacts closely with other USS staff and departments in serving the membership of USS and meeting organizational goals. What You’ll Be Doing

Primary responsibilities:

In this role, you will provide valuable support to the Marketing and Communication team with day-to-day social media management tasks, including:

  • Assisting with the curation, posting, and tracking content for social media channels (Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, YouTube, LinkedIn, X)
  • Providing ongoing community management that’s friendly, helpful, transparent and on-brand
  • Drafting and creating social posts, and revising and adjusting posts based on feedback from the Marketing and Communications team
  • Collaborating with team to generate content ideas and identify opportunities on social
  • Completing administrative social media tasks
  • Identifying key online trends to inform content strategy
  • Monitor social media channels for engagement and respond to comments or messages as needed
  • Support video editing efforts for promotional materials or social media campaigns
  • Maintain/update athlete bios for development of annual media guide
  • Organize the USS video archive

Secondary responsibilities: (Nice to have)

We are open to candidates with complementary skills and experiences that they can bring to the role, including but not limited to:

  • Graphic design and photo-editing ability (Canva and Adobe Suite)
  • Video content creation experience, including onscreen experience
  • Social media or general marketing strategy experience
  • Additional content editing experience

Who You Are:

  • A passion for Olympic sports
  • Knowledge of and experience with social media platforms
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Possess excellent communication skills, both written & verbal
  • Be flexible and enjoy a fast paced, rapidly changing environment
  • Willingness to learn with a go-getter attitude
  • Ability to be on-site 5-10 hours/week at the Utah Olympic Oval in Kearns, Utah

Compensation:

The hourly compensation for this position will be $17/hr, and the contract will be 10 hours per week for the Summer and 15 hours per week during the winter.
