FamilySearch International, the largest genealogy organization in the world, is looking for a full-time Events Communications Intern. This person will join the marketing team, assisting with the development and execution of multi-channel event marketing strategies to drive awareness, engagement, and demand of its annual RootsTech Conference and other FamilySearch efforts. RootsTech is an annual genealogy conference that hosts millions of people virtually in over 11 languages. The event is enhanced by in-person events in varying cities, but typically in Salt Lake City, Utah.

This individual will be assisting the engagement team with drafting and executing many different communication tactics in many different channels. This role will work closely with the event marketing manager to execute on communication strategies and plans.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Write copy for website, social and other communications tactics including email, blog, press releases, paid ads, social media and more 
  • Work with events marketing manager to help implement multi-channel event marketing plans/strategies for four different key audiences  
  • Help coordinate the planning, communications, and execution of the RootsTech influencer and blogger marketing program  
  • Manage content through the workflow until it’s ready to be published 
  • Collaborate and communicate with teams across the department and help execute targeted campaigns 
  • Try, learn, pivot -- gather data, measure and analyze; identify key learnings, then try again 
  • Maintain knowledge of current marketing trends

  • Must have a desire to be part of a high-functioning team and ready to work hard and achieve high standards 
  • Must be self-motivated with a high level of integrity   
  • Excellent project management and time management skills   
  • Ability to communicate effectively at all levels of the organization

Paid Interns are qualified while enrolled in an educational institution and for one year following graduation. They must sign a Paid Internship Engagement Letter.
