SOCIAL MEDIA SPECIALIST

The nationally syndicated podcast “The Lisa Show” is looking for a highly creative and motivated Social Media Marketing Specialist to generate content for its social media presence. We want someone who can come up with creative and engaging ideas and make them into a reality, all within a cohesive marketing plan in coordination with the BYU Broadcasting marketing team. This position is highly flexible, but as such it also requires a high level of effective time management and the ability to meet regular deadlines. We are specifically interested in growing our presence on Instagram and are looking for applicants with specific experience with Reels, Stories, and Posts on the platform.

This is not an entry-level position.

Duties:
- Generate creative and engaging ideas for social media content based on current trends and The Lisa Show content
- Work closely with The Lisa Show production and marketing team to ensure social media presence aligns with content and marketing goals
- Create Instagram posts, Reels, and Stories on a regular basis; this includes planning, recording, and editing
- Manage social media account inboxes
- Set quantifiable goals and regularly reevaluate plans and progress to reach them
- Meet regularly with show producers to ensure seamless coordination of podcast and social media presence

Job Qualifications Required Qualifications:
- Passion for creative storytelling, humor, and design
- Strong writing skills
- Strong video editing skills
- Understanding of the short-form video marketplace (Tik-Tok, Reels, Shorts, etc.)
- Some social media marketing experience
- Excellent time and task management skills
- Self-starter attitude that doesn’t require micromanagement

Preferred Qualifications:
- Awareness of online trends among our target audience of women and parents aged 35-50
- 2+ years of social media marketing experience
- Proficiency in video editing and graphic design

WRITER

The creative services department at BYU Broadcasting has an opening for a student writer. The ideal candidate would be able to work during Spring/Summer and continue at least through the 2023/24 school year.

Who are we looking for?

  • Communications, TMA or English majors interested in entertainment marketing

Duties include (but are not limited to):

  • Research
  • Creative ideation
  • Becoming well-versed in BYUtv and BYUradio programs
  • Editing
  • Writing

Job Qualifications:

  • Desire to become a better writer
  • Reliability (be at work when you say you will be at work)
  • Ability to finish tasks in a timely manner
  • Interest in tv, movies, digital streaming, entertainment a must
