The Assistant Podcast Producer will assist in the creation of the nationally syndicated “The Lisa Show” podcast, a prestige lifestyle show focused on empowering women and strengthening families. This highly-flexible role requires an excitement for creating compelling stories that make lives better, as well as a self-starter attitude that doesn’t need micromanagement. We are looking for someone interested in the growing podcasting field and willing to learn new skills and work in a small team to accomplish creative goals.

Hourly Wage: $15/hr

Duties:
- Assist in the production process from start to finish, including:
- Brainstorm episode and season ideas
- Research topics and guests
- Coordinate the booking of interviews
- Edit and listen to podcast drafts and provide editorial feedback
- Familiarize oneself with the target audience’s needs and interests
- Regularly meet with other producers to generate ideas and maintain the production cycle
- Generate marketing ideas for social media and occasionally write marketing copy
- Occasional other tasks related to podcast production

Job Qualifications:
- A passion for engaging storytelling
- A foundation of empathy for those whose stories deserve to be told
- Dependable time-management
- Ability and eagerness to learn new skills quickly and consistently
- Good interpersonal skills and consistent communication
- A self-starter attitude and willingness to work in a fast-paced creative environment

Preferred Qualifications:
- Past experience in podcasting, audio, music production, or something similar.
- An interest in the podcasting field
- Familiarity with any of the following software: Adobe Audition, ProTools, Asana, Descrip

The creative services department at BYU Broadcasting is looking for a student writer. The position will be 10-20 hours/week.The position requires someone who is interested in pursuing a career in entertainment marketing. (This is not a production position.) Communications majors are encouraged to apply. You will work with the Creative Manager and other student writers to produce a wide array of content including—but not limited to—blog posts, articles, taglines, and show/episode descriptions.

Assistant Podcast Producer for Constant Wonder on BYUradio

Producers will be responsible for working with teams to develop, research, and deliver live or pre-recorded programming. Brainstorm, pitch, find guests, and research and write content for radio/podcast that covers a wide range of material, from world history to NASA to wild animals. The job is fun but fast-paced. Students work with high degree of autonomy, but also accountability. Typically, students in this position work 15 hours a week. Pay is $13/hour. Shifts are flexible.
