PURPOSES

If our purpose statement and quality standards are something you believe in, we invite you to apply for this position.  One of the expectations of employment in the Family History Department is a willingness to do Family History research and help others do the same.

This internship will be focused on editing historical data gathered by others, researching, and compiling historical data for assigned localities, and using the data to create accurate and informational snippets.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Conduct assigned research projects summarizing a locality’s history using reliable sources, prioritizing data as directed.
  • Input gathered content into a standard template.
  • Edit historical data for content, brevity, and accuracy.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Paid interns are qualified while enrolled in an educational institution and for one year following graduation. They must sign a Paid Internship Engagement Letter.
  • Student in History, English, Journalism, or related field.
  • Ability to analyze and prioritize research to complete projects within a given timeframe.
  • Self-motivated.
  • Ability to work effectively alone and with a group.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office, especially Excel and Word.
  • Knowledge of multiple languages is a plus.

WORTHINESS QUALIFICATION

Must be a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and currently temple worthy.
