The Department of Corrections Executive office is offering a great opportunity for a Legislative/Communication Internship. This is a part-time, time limited position with the Utah Department of Corrections. This is a flexible three-month position working directly with the Executive Office to help with various projects including the legislative session and communications related projects. This will be a 20 to 40 hour a week position.
Salary: $15.00 - $20.00 Hourly

Example of Duties:
- Aids the executive office by tracking bills and drafting messaging related to the legislative session and Corrections.
- Aids the communications office in research and implementation in various communications efforts.
- Assists with the Department's public website, social media.
- Assists the communications office with constituent services.
- Performs related duties as assigned.
The ideal candidate for this position is someone who processes the following qualifications:
- Completed or is actively pursuing a bachelors or masters in communications, political science, economics, marketing, business or a related degree.
- Uses proper grammar, spelling and punctuation.
- Working knowledge of design principles and experience using Adobe Suite.
- Communicates information and ideas clearly, and concisely.
- Works with people in a manner which shows sensitivity, tact, and professionalism.
- Has a general understanding of the legislative process.
