Paid LDS Living Writing/Editorial Internship (Fall 2023)

Do you want to work on meaningful projects that make a positive impact in the lives of others? Are you looking for actual frontline experience that will make your résumé stand out from all the rest? Are you passionate about writing and editing? If you answered yes to the questions above, then you should apply to become LDS Living’s next writing and editorial intern.

As an editing and writing intern, you will be responsible for writing and editing content for LDS Living magazine and LDSLiving.com. Everyday tasks will include writing, editing, interviewing, fact checking, content planning, and much more.

We’re looking for someone with fresh ideas and a positive attitude. We’re a small team working on some big projects, and we need someone who can jump in and do great things.

Company description:
LDS Living magazine, a division of Deseret Book, is a bimonthly magazine and website that aims to inform, entertain, and inspire. We address issues that are relevant to members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and celebrate our unique culture. We complement, rather than focus on, spiritual issues and strive to support the lifestyle and beliefs of our readers.

Major(s) sought: Communications, English, Editing

Requirements/qualifications:
Applicants should be currently enrolled and working toward a degree in a related field or recently graduated. We welcome communications majors with an emphasis in journalism; English, English language, or linguistics majors who have taken a copyediting class; or those who have had substantial experience planning and running a successful blog. Knowledge of Chicago or AP styles is a plus. Must have excellent writing and communication skills and an interest in learning all facets of online content creation and the magazine publication process.

Salary/hours:                         

Paid ($14/hr)
40 hours per week
Graduate or undergraduate students

Editorial Assistant Internship

Let's face it, you need a job, and we need an editor to help reorganize, edit, and redesign our website (wordcruncher.com). This internship will span the length of the project, with potential to continue part-time afterwards, if desired. If possible, we will finish by the beginning of July.
