Join our dynamic social media team at FamilySearch, where you'll help create engaging content that showcases our innovative genealogy products and services. As part of our tight-knit team, you'll work directly with the Senior Social Media Manager and other team members to optimize our social media presence across Instagram, Facebook, X, and YouTube channels. This role offers hands-on experience in content creation, strategy development, and brand management while targeting a public and Latter-day Saint audience.
Responsibilities
- Create and record original content including reels, videos, and social media posts
- Write engaging captions and stories that connect with our audiences
- Craft compelling narratives around family history discoveries
- Interview and feature patrons to share their personal family history stories
- Set up and operate basic audio/visual equipment for content creation
- Perform basic video editing and content preparation
- Collaborate with homeland teams worldwide to develop diverse, culturally relevant content
- Create and manage content calendars using Monday.com boards and dashboards
- Track and report post metrics to evaluate performance against key KPIs
- Develop creative content ideas across all social channels, including YouTube
- Contribute to content design, composition, and copy development
- Drive content through production workflow, including gathering assets and basic editing
- Collaborate with vendors and internal teams for content approval processes
- Ensure all content adheres to brand guidelines and public-facing standards
- Work in a hybrid (in-person/remote) environment
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree (or near completion) in Marketing, PR, Journalism, or related field
- Experience in social media management and online content creation
- Strong storytelling ability and writing skills for social media
- Ability to craft engaging captions that drive audience engagement
- Strong understanding of current social media trends and performance metrics
- Detail-oriented with excellent content review skills
- Creative eye for design and aesthetics
- Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills
- Excellent planning, organizing, and time management abilities
- Self-motivated with ability to overcome obstacles independently
- Process-driven approach to content workflow management
- Comfort with creating and appearing in video content
- Cultural awareness and ability to work with international teams
Preferred Qualifications
- Basic video production experience
- Experience with audio equipment (e.g., lavalier microphones)
- Familiarity with video editing software
- Understanding of basic lighting and sound principles for content creation
JOB TYPE:
