Join a community of interns to gain professional skills and learn about museum practice. The Met has over forty department areas that host interns from a wide variety of academic backgrounds. Current students and recent graduates can learn about museum practice and gain professional skills in a variety of fields through internships at The Met Fifth Avenue and The Met Cloisters during the academic year.

The Springville Museum of Art has opened applications for our Spring/Summer (May-August) 2026 internship cycle. Applications will be open until 11:59pm on March 7. This semester, we will be taking interns in the areas of Collections Management and Education.

The mission of the National Museum of African American History and Culture Internship Program is to provide equitable and meaningful temporary workplace-based learning experiences guided by staff mentors across a broad range of museum career fields to support the academic and professional goals of future museum leaders and advocates.

Are you a college or graduate student interested in gaining work experience? We offer paid internships in a wide array of disciplines. You'll learn from knowledgeable mentors in a variety of fields, from curatorial research to administration, all in the dynamic atmosphere of Washington, DC. You'll work with distinguished scholars, accomplished professionals, and iconic artifacts in an immersive experience as multifaceted as the Museum itself.

Apply by October 15 for Winter 2026 internships. Intern in London—a city at the crossroads of the U.S and European culture and a hub for global business and politics. An internship in London will provide you with valuable real-world experience that will set you apart when applying for future employment and/or academic programs. Professional internships are available in an array of fields, including editing/publishing, museum/curatorial, education, literature, non-profit, PR/communications, marketing, government, banking, fine arts, startups, creative industries, pre-law, and more.

I worked primarily in the Trust's archive, responding to research enquiries, assisting with collections management, and doing independent research. Other tasks included assisting with public tours in Dove Cottage and working with outreach groups, such as universities on study abroad, during their visits to the Trust.
