Summer Technical Writing Internship with Texas Instruments (Lehi)

In this role, you’ll work on important projects across a variety of business and functional areas. This provides the unique opportunity to see the breadth of things you can do in Technical Writing —all in one summer. Some of these areas and responsibilities include:

  • Write and edit procedures, manuals, and other technical documents
  • Follow defined documentation processes, standards, and style guide
  • Process documentation requests from submittal to final publishing
  • Communicate complex ideas in a concise manner
  • Work with subject matter experts (SMEs) to develop content
  • Coordinate with leader and technical writer team to prioritize documentation requests
  • Demonstrate solid interpersonal communication skills and timely responsiveness to maintain open dialogue with SMEs and team
  • Manage multiple documentation tasks and deliver on deadlines
  • Maintain technical accuracy in all aspects of work

Minimum Requirements:

  • Pursuing an undergraduate or graduate degree in English or related major with a technical communication, editing, or related emphasis
  • Minimum Cumulative 3.0/4.0 GPA, or higher 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Excellent writing and editing skills
  • Ability to translate complex information into simple, easy-to-understand language
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to effectively interact with SMEs
  • Ability to learn new tools and processes
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Strong task management skills to simultaneously manage multiple documentation tasks
  • Results and deadline oriented; customer-service oriented
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
