Student Job: Writer for BYU Broadcasting (internship credit possible)

The creative services department at BYU Broadcasting is looking for a student writer. The position will be 10-20 hours/week.The position requires someone who is interested in pursuing a career in entertainment marketing. (This is not a production position.) Communications majors are encouraged to apply. You will work with the Creative Manager and other student writers to produce a wide array of content including—but not limited to—blog posts, articles, taglines, and show/episode descriptions.

Qualifications:

  • Willingness to learn multiple writing styles and formats
  • Desire to become a better writer
  • Ability to manage scheduled deadlines in addition to ad hoc assignments
  • Strong communication skills
  • Excellent grammar skills
  • Research skills
  • Knowledge of BYUtv shows beyond Studio C
  • Familiarity with Chicago style
  • Experience with SEO a huge plus
  • Editing skills a plus
  • Adobe Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign) a plus
