PURPOSES
BYU-Pathway Worldwide is looking to fill several paid social media intern positions. These positions are 40-hours per week. Internships start every January, April/May and August/September. Now hiring primarily for interns to start April/May 2022.
Social media interns fill strategy and production areas in either digital marketing and advertising, or social community growth and engagement in support of BYU-Pathway Worldwide’s digital outreach efforts. These efforts include managing day-to-day social media activity; developing and implementing social media campaigns and tactics; targeting online outreach to promote brand awareness and drive enrollment; and analyzing, reviewing, and reporting on effectiveness of campaigns to maximize results.
Last year we doubled our organic follower growth and had a tenfold increase in our engagements. If you want to be part of something that continues to grow and evolve, this is the right internship for you.
MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES
- Daily content creation for our social media channels, sometimes in other languages.
- Daily monitoring and reporting of social media engagement metrics associated with each channel.
- Fostering a sense of community through our social media channels through moderation of comments as well as interacting with students in dedicated Facebook groups.
POSSIBLE RESPONSIBILITIES, AS NEEDED
- Creating and monitoring ad campaigns via Ads Manager, Google Ads, and Snapchat Ads.
- Testing new ad concepts and ad platform features.
- Creating reports related to our website and ad platforms.

PURPOSES
As the Marketing and Communication student employee, you’ll assist the Communication Manager to highlight the incredible work of BYU-Pathway’s Field Operations department and the EnglishConnect program. You will play a crucial role in a collaborative work environment to develop, write, and deliver short- and long-term client projects.
You will play an active role in sharing the story of BYU-Pathway Worldwide. You’ll do this by developing editorial calendars, interviewing students and learners, writing copy for a variety of mediums (print, digital, and social), distributing messages using Dynamics Marketing, making edits to web pages using Brightspot, assisting with enrollment webinars simulcast on Zoom and Facebook, learning about the importance of good data, and carrying out other administrative tasks as needed.
As a member of a professional communication department, you will get to interact with our communication, digital marketing, messaging, and design teams on a regular basis. You will gain meaningful experience applicable to the marketing and communication field and walk away with portfolio pieces.
This is a paid student position located at the Triad Center in Salt Lake City (The office is currently working remotely but candidates must be in Utah or Idaho for the duration of their employment). Students typically work a consistent 20-hour a week schedule during the hours of 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday–Friday.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Attends meetings with Communication Manager to collaborate on projects
- Reviews upcoming tasks and project needs
- Creates and edits content involved with each message
- Manages various ongoing and short-term projects
- Maintains client relations and receives project requests
- Assists with production
QUALIFICATIONS
- Strong writing, communication, and editing skills
- Writing for social media (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, etc.)
- Studying Communication, English, Journalism, Business, Marketing, international studies or a related field.
- Thorough knowledge of and experience with the writing process
- Experience conducting interviews, writing articles, and storytelling
- Ability to follow directions and meet fast-paced deadlines
- Planning, organizing, and time management
- Attention to detail
- Familiarity with marketing email campaigns (preferred)
- Second-language abilities is a plus (e.g. Spanish, Portuguese, or French preferred)
Program skills preferred:
- Microsoft Word, Excel, and online office applications (Google Docs/Drive)
- Wordpress, BrightSpot or another publishing/content management tool
- Zoom, WebEx or other video conferencing software
- Dynamics Marketing or other email marketing system (basic understanding is a plus)
- Adobe Creative Suite (basic understanding is a plus)
