For over 30 years, CHOICE Humanitarian has worked with rural community members who face the many dimensions of poverty. They are offering two paid internships to start as soon as possible. These positions offer remote/hybrid work and the chance to learn about nonprofit work.

MARKETING INTERN

Paid: $15/hour
Hybrid Remote/Office: Most of the internship responsibilities can be performed remotely, though there may besome meetings, trainings, or marketing events that take place in person. (If a candidate does not live within driving distance of the CHOICE Humanitarian offices in West Jordan, UT, the internship can be fully remote.)
20 hours/week. Flexible (but consistent) schedule.

  • The most important thing is getting the work done on time and being in close communication with the Director of Strategic Engagement and Communications.

Length: 3-4 months (standard semester length)

Want to change the world by reducing global poverty with marketing, communications, and strategic engagement? CHOICE Humanitarian is looking for a motivated and skilled individual to join our team as the Strategic Engagement & Communications (marketing) Intern.

CHOICE Humanitarian is a nonprofit development organization with nearly four decades of experience in reducing poverty by expanding choice. CHOICE has impacted over 2 million people, funded over 2,000 projects, and helped over 750 communities. CHOICE works with and through rural communities in Bolivia, Ecuador, Guatemala, Kenya, Mexico, the Navajo Nation, Nepal, and Peru.

What You’ll Do
The Strategic Engagement & Communications Intern will support the Director of Strategic Engagement & Communications in marketing campaigns, initiatives, tasks, and responsibilities. The goal of CHOICE’s communications is three-fold: educate our audiences on the challenges and solutions to rural poverty, inspirethem with stories of hope and resilience from our communities, and activate them to donate, advocate, share, partner, volunteer, and more. In this internship, you’ll gain hands-on experience for a career in marketing while you work alongside passionate global changemakers to make a real difference. This just might be the best internship ever.

Anxiety and depression are growing issues among kids and teenagers. United Way’s EveryDay Strong project is on a mission to empower parents and other caring adults to know how to build resilience in children. We’ve already reached over twenty thousand families in Utah and we’re still spreading. As the Mental Health Social Media Intern, you’ll help us remix featured content for our Facebook and Instagram channels to reach more families and teach them how to help their kids feel safe, connected, and confident.

Public Policy & Communications Intern (Jan-April)

The Public Policy and Communications Intern will be an integral part of YWCA Utah’s Policy Team and will support advocacy efforts during the 2024 Utah Legislative General Session. The position will run from January through April 2024. The Public Policy and Communications Intern will have the opportunity to effect meaningful policy change, gain experience in nonprofit policy advocacy, and make valuable connections among community and state leaders.

HEAL Utah Legislative Internship (Stipend)

The Legislative Intern works closely with the Community Engagement Manager and HEAL Utah staff to promote renewable energy and protect Utah from dirty air and toxic waste. Most of the Legislative Interns’ responsibilities will include work at the Utah State Capitol during the legislative session and outreach and research. In the spring of 2023, we expect this to mix in-person and virtual.
