STEM and DEIA Writer

STEM outreach and DEIA are important to NASA. The intern would be responsible for working with Langley's OSTEM and Internship offices to find interesting stories about NASA STEM outreach and write feature stories and social media posts. The intern will also work with NASA Langley's DEIA team to feature our diverse workforce in feature stories, photos, social media posts, and other communications products.

SCaN Technical Writing and Documentation for Spacecraft Telecomm Systems

The intern will write technical summaries, reports, white papers, and/or publications for the Flight Microwave and Telecommunication Systems Branch at Goddard Space Flight Center. The primary goal is to provide documentation of ongoing and upcoming spacecraft developments. In particular, the student will provide technical documentation on the current developments of telecommunication systems for the Roman Space Telescope, Volatiles Investigating Polar Exploration Rover (VIPER) lunar rover, and Plankton, Aerosol, Cloud, ocean Ecosystem (PACE) spacecraft. These documents will capture the detailed design aspects, technical processes, accomplishments, and lessons learned of these space flight telecommunication developments.

The intern will review technical documentation, interview the engineers who have designed these systems and are leading their development, witness the development and testing of these spacecraft systems, and finally provide summarized technical reports and papers.

Strategic Communications Internship

Development of internal communications for agency-wide messaging and strategic engagement to expand DEIA awareness, improve understanding and appreciation of the variety of cultural and religious occasions observed by U.S. to maximize inclusivity and recognize the significance and remembrance.

Assist with a variety of communications- and team-related assignments and tasks as necessary. Interns may be asked to conduct draft communications plans, memos, create data visuals, and more.

The Office of Public Engagement develops strategies for relevant internal and external audiences to foster understanding and increase engagement in support of NASA's strategic priorities.
