PAID FamilySearch Training Content Internship

Come help FamilySearch develop training for Family History employees and missionaries throughout the world. In your work with us, you will help build a training site to teach others how to use our content management system (CMS).

You will help in all aspects of building the training site. You’ll create web pages, videos, and interactive training modules to help others understand training materials. Along the way, you will gain experience working with content management systems, translation, and governance processes. 

Our best candidates love figuring out how to do new things and teaching others how to have that same experience. They have a knack for turning complexity and uncertainty into simplicity and confidence. 

RESPONSIBILITIES

In this internship, you will:  

  • Create web pages using our CMS.
  • Create video snippets showing others how to use our CMS
  • Collaborate with team members, missionaries, product managers, user experience designers, engineers, editors, and others to gather information, review for accuracy, and coordinate deadlines. 
  • Submit content for translation using established processes. 

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Currently enrolled in Academic courses or graduated with a bachelors or post-graduate degree within the last year. Degrees related to learning content are preferred (Instructional Design, Technical Writing, or a related degree).
  • Cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher. 
  • Excellent English written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills. Experience or classwork in technical writing or instructional design highly preferred. 
  • Comfortable working on multiple projects at once. 
  • Demonstrated ability to grasp new concepts, skills, and technologies quickly. 
  • Good team player; able to form good relationships widely through an organization. 
  • Self-starter who requires little to no supervision. 
  • Attention to detail and well organized. 
  • Experience using Microsoft Office products and cloud-based authoring systems.
  • Experience with family history and FamilySearch.org a plus.
  • Paid Interns are qualified while enrolled in an educational institution and for one year following graduation.

The mission of this position is to help Church members fulfill their divinely appointed responsibility to discover their families through family history methods, submit their names to the temple for saving ordinances, and to help bring souls unto Christ. This position is one of many focal points for all written and audiovisual training materials for the geographical areas of the church. The Intern will be fully accountable with supervision to ensure product reliability in instructional content, style, clarity and usability.
