Job Overview (What You’ll Do):
Cotopaxi is seeking a Creative Copy Intern for the fall semester to assist with our product descriptions, emails, and content. The role will be responsible for writing assigned copy, managing information, and organizing documents.
Throughout these three months, the intern can expect to gain a comprehensive understanding of how a corporate creative team operates with guidance from mentors and fellow creatives. They will also contribute published writing for Cotopaxi that they can include in their resume and portfolio!
The ideal candidate will be working on, or have recently obtained, their Bachelor’s Degree in a related field to the internship and will have an interest pursuing a career in writing; will be detail-oriented and organized; and will have a passion for bringing our mission-driven brand to life through their words.
This role will sit on our Creative team, report to our Copywriter and collaborate with Graphic Designers.
Job Responsibilities (How You’ll Do It):
- Produce and help rewrite copy for products and collections.
- Interface with the product team and spreadsheets to optimize product copy docs.
- Write email copy related to promotions, new products, and impact.
- Write 2-3 blog posts during internship.
- Take on any other copy assignments as needed.
- Revise work in response to edits and feedback.
- Collaborate with writers and designers to bring a creative idea to life.

- 3-5 published writing clips for a portfolio.
Experiences to Highlight (What You Need to Succeed):
- Bachelor’s Degree (in progress or completed) in English, Creative Writing, Journalism, Marketing, or a related field.
- Ability to write engaging, on-brand, and grammatically correct copy.
- Ability to edit own work, and revise work based on feedback.
- Passion for and professional interest in a career involving writing.
- Experience writing, whether for a school newspaper, personal blog, or digital/print publication.
- Knowledge about sustainable business practices or products in the outdoor industry is a plus.
- Proficiency working in Google Suite.
