As the Marketing and Communication student employee, you’ll assist the Senior Manager of Digital Marketing and Enrollment to highlight the incredible work of BYU-Pathway’s Field Operations department. You will play a crucial role in a collaborative work environment to develop, write, and deliver short- and long-term client projects.

You will play an active role in sharing the story of BYU-Pathway Worldwide. You’ll do this by writing copy for a variety of mediums (print, digital, and social), distributing messages using Dynamics Marketing, making edits to web pages using Brightspot, assisting with enrollment webinars simulcast on Zoom and Facebook, updating promotional templates, learning about the importance of good data, and carrying out other administrative tasks as needed.

As a member of a professional marketing department, you will get to interact with our communication, digital marketing, messaging, and design teams on a regular basis. You will gain meaningful experience applicable to the marketing and communication field and walk away with portfolio pieces.

This is a paid student position located at the Triad Center in Salt Lake City (The office is currently working remotely but candidates must be in Utah or Idaho for the duration of their employment). Students work a consistent 20-hour a week schedule during the hours of 8 a.m. to noon or 1 to 5 p.m. Monday–Friday.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Attends meetings with the Digital Marketing and Enrollment teams to collaborate on projects
  • Reviews upcoming tasks and project needs
  • Creates and edits content
  • Manages various ongoing and short-term projects

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Studying Communication, English, Journalism, Business, Marketing, or a related field.
  • Strong writing, communication, and editing skills
    • Writing for social media (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, etc.)
    • Experience conducting interviews, writing articles, and storytelling
  • Ability to follow directions and meet fast-paced deadlines
  • Planning, organizing, and time management
  • Attention to detail
  • Second-language abilities is a plus (e.g. Spanish, Portuguese, or French preferred)

Our program offers a unique opportunity for students to gain experience in public service and leadership. Our fellows work directly with senior advisors and cabinet members on a wide variety of initiatives. Importantly, they are given direct exposure to our legislative efforts in the spring, from initial policy drafting in January to bill review in April.
