The Student Conservation Association (SCA) is the largest provider of hands-on environmental conservation programs for youth and adults. Reporting to the Senior Director of Marketing and Communications, the SCA Digital Media Fellow Intern will play a vital role within our organization by helping advance our message and mission, from developing social media content to managing social posts and official accounts. As an SCA Fellow Intern, you will gain valuable hands-on experience in the planning and developing content for our social media channels, the website and email marketing campaigns. This opportunity provides an excellent opportunity to develop skills, network, and make a positive impact on the communities we serve. All SCA Fellow Interns will operate as a cohort and are required to participate in orientation, training, and ongoing check-ins together over the 12-week period.

Location: Fully Remote

Duration: Jan. 8, 2024 – March 29, 2024 (12 Weeks, 25 hours per week)

Responsibilities

  • Assist with planning, research and development of content for our official social media channels, website and email marketing campaigns.
  • Assist with managing our social media presence and help us craft a fun yet professional online brand.
  • Create and edit videos and photos.
  • Engage with our audience on social media and coordinate social posts with other staff.
  • Produce weekly and monthly social media reports.
  • Attend and actively participate in needed orientation, meetings, training sessions, and check-ins.
  • Collaborate with members of the Marketing & Communications Department and cross-functional staff as needed.
  • Perform any other duties as assigned by the Senior Director of Marketing and Communications.

Qualifications

  • Enrollment in or recent graduation from a college or university program in Journalism, Communications, Marketing, or Advertising with related relevant experience.
  • Strong passion for digital media production and deep understanding of popular social media platforms.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, that will captivate our audience.
  • Proficiency in social media platforms, content management systems, digital marketing tools and analytics platforms.
  • Experience with Canva, Adobe and/or other design platforms.
  • Video and photo editing skills and experience.
  • Strong organizational skills to stay on top of deadlines and schedules.
  • A willingness to adapt and embrace new technologies in the ever-evolving world of social media and communications.
  • Ability to multitask, prioritize and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a team and independently.
  • Positive attitude, team player, and willingness to learn.
  • Ability to commit to the full duration of the Fellow internship and attend necessary orientation, trainings, check-ins and meetings.
  • Physical fitness and the capability to perform fieldwork and outdoor activities [if applicable].
  • Commitment to adhering to safety procedures and environmental ethics.
  • Access to a computer, reliable internet connectivity and the ability to work remotely.

The Public Policy and Communications Intern will be an integral part of YWCA Utah’s Policy Team and will support advocacy efforts during the 2024 Utah Legislative General Session. The position will run from January through April 2024. The Public Policy and Communications Intern will have the opportunity to effect meaningful policy change, gain experience in nonprofit policy advocacy, and make valuable connections among community and state leaders.

HEAL Utah Legislative Internship (Stipend)

The Legislative Intern works closely with the Community Engagement Manager and HEAL Utah staff to promote renewable energy and protect Utah from dirty air and toxic waste. Most of the Legislative Interns’ responsibilities will include work at the Utah State Capitol during the legislative session and outreach and research. In the spring of 2023, we expect this to mix in-person and virtual.
