CLOSED Real Salt Lake Communications Internship

Real Salt Lake & Utah Royals offer a unique opportunity for students to work within the Public Relations Department. The Club's internship program will provide students with invaluable experience that will benefit the pursuit of a career in almost any field. If you are a student or recent graduate with initiative, dedication, a strong work ethic, and a sincere interest in professional soccer, then you are encouraged to apply.

This internship requires a minimum commitment of working every home game at America First Field or Zions Bank Stadium. There is the opportunity for additional work in the office and in the community, working on the various programs and special events managed by the Sponsorship department.

Please note that home games of the 2025 season will begin in February and may run through December.

RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE: 

· Assists in maintaining relationships with local, national, and international media outlets.
· Compiles and distributes press releases, news articles, and other relevant communications materials.
· Monitors media coverage and creates comprehensive reports.
· Contributes to the creation of engaging and compelling content for press releases, website updates, and social media platforms.
· Assists in writing and editing content for various communication channels.
· Other duties as assigned.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS INCLUDES:
 
· Enrolled in or recently graduated with a degree in Public Relations or Communications.
· The ideal candidate will have a well-rounded ability to write with a clear and concise voice and proper grammar, following AP Style Guidelines. Interns will help write stories for the website, recaps, previews, and other various written content, making the ability to write crucial to the success of the program.
· Must be flexible to work evenings and weekends to attend Real Salt Lake, Utah Royals, and Monarchs games.
· Strong time management skills, administrative aptitude, organization, and customer service skills.
· High energy with the ability to remain focused while working independently.
· Ability to communicate effectively in a professional manner, both written and verbal.
· Able to successfully pass a background check and become SafeSport Certified.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
· A good understanding of soccer is preferred.
