Marketing and Communications Internship with the State of Utah

The Utah Governor's Office of Economic Opportunity is hiring a Marketing and Communications Intern to support Utah Film Commission (UFC) projects and initiatives. Position will assist with the following:

  • Assist with UFC’s online presence via website, social media and other digitally connected platforms. Responsibilities include:
    • Create and schedule posts and reels on UFC’s social media channels daily, including Facebook, Instagram, X, and LinkedIn using Agorapulse and Later scheduling software
    • Monitor social media engagement daily and respond to community questions
    • Provide analytics and reporting for UFC’s website and social media accounts
    • Update website content, including photos, new production releases, articles, job postings, etc.
    • Keep up-to-date on all Utah film-related events or activities to promote Utah’s film industry, including new or past filmed-in-Utah productions, filming locations, film festivals, screenings, workshops, panels, etc.
    • Write and publish articles and press releases about the Utah film industry on the Utah Film Commission website or other publications.
    • Update Utah film content on interactive apps and platforms, such as Letterboxd, MapMe, and SetJetters
  • Organize photo and video assets from productions in Google Drive and Tandem software
  • Support all marketing and communications initiatives that further the mission of the office and promote UFC as a leader in film production
  • Other tasks as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Six months to one year of equivalent experience.
  • Must demonstrate the potential ability to perform the essential functions of the job as outlined in the position description.
  • Preferred Skills:
    • Must be able to prioritize and organize tasks in a timely manner
    • Ability to meet deadlines with a very quick turnaround
    • Must be able to work independently and problem solve
    • Ability to assist with graphic design and photo/video editing
    • Familiarity with Microsoft Office applications including Word, Excel and PowerPoint
    • Familiarity with other applications, including Adobe Creative Cloud, Asana, Mailchimp, WordPress, Tandem, Agorapulse, Later or another social media scheduling software

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

  • Duration: April 1-June 30, 2024 (flexible start date)
  • Up to 20 hours per week (3-4 hours, 5 days per week)
  • Remote or In-person options available
    • Office Location: Council Hall - 300 State St, Salt Lake City, UT 84103

Housing Program and Policy Research Internship

Salt Lake City’s Department of Community and Neighborhoods (CAN) is implementing two housing plans: Housing SLC, our five-year moderate-income housing plan; and Thriving in Place, our anti-displacement plan. CAN is seeking an intern that is interested in local government’s role in housing to further the commitments made in those two housing plans.
