Learning & Development Internship (one year - full time)

As a Learning and Development Intern, you will play a key role in supporting the development and execution of learning initiatives within the ICS Department. This internship offers hands-on experience developing engaging training content, coordinating workshops, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to enhance the employee learning experience. You will gain practical exposure to the full learning lifecycle while contributing to high-impact projects such as the Area Day-in-the-Life series, Product Show and Tell series, Orientation, and AI Literacy training.

Responsibilities

  1. Develop Engaging Learning Content:
    1. Collaborate with subject matter experts to identify learning needs and create impactful training materials.
    2. Contribute creative ideas to enhance engagement, interactivity, and storytelling in learning experiences.
  2. Coordinate and Deliver Learning Programs:
    1. Assist in planning and facilitating workshops, orientations, and virtual learning sessions.
    2. Manage logistics, communications, and participant follow-up to ensure smooth delivery.
    3. Support the implementation and upkeep of e-learning platforms and AI-enabled learning tools.
    4. Maintain and update intranet content and learning resources to keep materials current and accessible.
  3. Collaborate Across Teams:
    1. Partner with cross-functional teams to align learning initiatives with organizational goals.
    2. Contribute to communication and engagement efforts that promote key initiatives.
  4. Evaluate and Improve Learning Programs:
    1. Gather feedback and analyze participation data to assess program effectiveness.
    2. Recommend improvements that enhance learner engagement and program outcomes. 

Qualifications

You should be currently enrolled in or within in year of your graduation date from a relevant undergraduate or graduate program.

  • Internship is for current temple worthy members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints
  • Strong interest in learning and development, organizational development, or a related field.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proactive attitude and ability to take initiative.
  • Basic knowledge of instructional design principles is a plus.
  • Familiarity with e-learning tools and platforms is advantageous.

Work Schedule: This is a 40 hour per week internship that is expected to last approximately 12 months. Internships will start January of 2026. Normal office hours are between 8:00 am-5:00 pm, Monday through Friday. This will work a hybrid schedule, some days in office, some days from home.

The Online Learning Technical Writing Intern plays a vital role in assisting users of online Seminary, Institute, and BYU Pathway religion courses. Support is provided through email, support tickets, and occasional virtual conference calls. The intern also contributes to writing, revising, and proofreading communications sent to Seminary and Institute employees worldwide.
