Internship Description

The Wilford Woodruff Papers Foundation is seeking highly skilled editorial interns who are interested in documentary editing, including the transcription of historical documents, paleography, digital humanities, and related work.

These interns will primarily use a web-based transcription program (fromthepage.com) to edit transcriptions of nineteenth-century documents written by or to Wilford Woodruff. Each of the thousands of Wilford Woodruff’s documents being published on the website is transcribed by one individual, verified by a team of two different individuals, and then reviewed a third time to ensure the greatest level of accuracy. After initial training, interns work primarily independently for the majority of their time each week, reporting hours weekly. A supervisor mentors through weekly meetings.
