Editorial Internship - Church History Department

Church History

The Publications Division seeks an Editorial Intern to help with current publishing projects. This is a temporary, one-year paid internship in which the intern will be expected to work 40 hours per week. The Editorial Intern will work as part of a large team of editors, historians, archivists, and writers. This is a great opportunity to participate in various aspects of the publishing process, to hone your skills, and to learn more about Church history.

Responsibilities may include checking facts and citing sources, proofreading, copyediting, transcribing original documents, applying project style guides, and helping publish materials in HTML or XML. Additional responsibilities may include helping with publicity, securing permissions, and other tasks according to project needs and individual capabilities.

The Publications Division of the Church History Department publishes Church history for Church members and scholars. Recent publications include The Joseph Smith Papers (print, web, ebooks, podcasts), Saints: The Story of the Church of Jesus Christ in the Latter Days (print, web, app, podcasts), and the Diaries of Emmeline B.
