Editorial Assistant Internship

Let's face it, you need a job, and we need an editor to help reorganize, edit, and redesign our website (wordcruncher.com). This internship will span the length of the project, with potential to continue part-time afterwards, if desired. If possible, we will finish by the beginning of July.

Responsibilities:

  • Create a site map for the website, including identifying missing content
  • Reorganize website layout
  • Perform developmental editing on web pages
  • Identify design flaws

Qualifications:

  • Strong writing, editing and communication skills
  • Willingness to learn and ask questions
  • Self-motivated
  • Majoring/minoring in a field related to writing or editing

Bonuses:

  • Experience with WordCruncher
  • Training in technical writing or website design
  • Experience with HTML, CSS, Javascript, or programming language(s)

FamilySearch International, the largest genealogy organization in the world, is looking for a full-time Events Communications Intern. This person will join the marketing team, assisting with the development and execution of multi-channel event marketing strategies to drive awareness, engagement, and demand of its annual RootsTech Conference and other FamilySearch efforts. RootsTech is an annual genealogy conference that hosts millions of people virtually in over 11 languages. The event is enhanced by in-person events in varying cities, but typically in Salt Lake City, Utah.
