Digital & Social Media Internship with Real Salt Lake

As a Social Media Intern you will have the opportunity to learn about the brand, vision and history of Real Salt Lake and understand the importance of how a professional sports organization works. You will learn to work with a wide array of assets including but not limited to social media, paid ads, website design, writing, brand vision, graphic design, photography, and videography. You will further develop general critical thinking, problem-solving, time management, communication, and writing skills.

This internship requires a minimum commitment to working every home game at America First Field and Zions Bank Stadium. In-office hours are also required throughout the workweek to capture content, create social media plans, and track analytics.

Please note that the first RSL home game of the 2023 season will be in February and that the season may run through November or early December. 

RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:

  • Works directly with the Digital Director to create a content plan for Real Salt Lake, Real Monarchs, Real Salt Lake Academy, and RSL Community social platforms.
  • Completes season-long projects to create, develop, plan, and execute.
  • Captures photos at RSL/Real Monarchs matches, training sessions, Community Relations events, etc.
  • Tracks, analyzes and monitors social media analytics
  • Creates written content for RSL.com
  • Brainstorm creative ways to create content across social media platforms
  • Assists on Real Salt Lake and Real Monarchs on matchdays
  • Tracks emerging social media trends and platforms like TikTok  
  • Other duties as assigned. 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Strong interest in social media
  • Strong writing skills  
  • Experience with Adobe Suite (Photoshop, Lightroom, Premiere), photo and video camera equipment
  • Able to commit to 20-30 hours per week. 
  • Possess knowledge of current and emerging social platforms.
  • Reliability, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Must be creative, detail-oriented, and efficient, as you will be asked to create content under strict time restrictions. 
  • The ideal candidate will be able to create professional-grade content by deadlines for RSL, Real Monarchs, RSL Academy, and RSL Community.
  • Ability to work flexible hours including nights, weekends, and holidays to meet the teams' schedules. 

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: 

  • Basic knowledge of soccer is not required but highly suggested as interns will need to have a working understanding of the game to fulfill several responsibilities.

Social Media Intern/Volunteer

We are looking for a well-organized, self-motivated, reliable and committed person to help with our social media accounts. As a social media intern or volunteer, you will focus on supporting UVR’s advocacy strategy and campaigns by researching relevant content and creating new content to publish to UVR's Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, and TikTok accounts. You will work with a team responsible for image selection, caption and content writing, and some photography at UVR events. You will also be communicating to the public via answering DMs. This is an excellent opportunity to gain experience working with a professional staff in an enthusiastic, community-based non-profit organization.
