Communications Internship


Real Salt Lake & Utah Royals offer a unique opportunity for students to work within the Public Relations Department. The Club's internship program will provide students with an invaluable experience that will benefit the pursuit of a career in almost any field. If you are a student or recent graduate with initiative, dedication, a strong work ethic, and a sincere interest in professional soccer, then you are encouraged to apply.

This internship requires a minimum commitment of working every home game at America First Field or Zions Bank Stadium. There is the opportunity for additional work in the office and in the community, working on the various programs and special events managed by the Sponsorship department.

Please note that home games of the 2025 season will begin in February and may run through December.   

RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE: 

  • Assists in maintaining relationships with local, national, and international media outlets.
  • Compiles and distributes press releases, news articles, and other relevant communications materials.
  • Monitors media coverage and creates comprehensive reports.
  • Contributes to the creation of engaging and compelling content for press releases, website updates, and social media platforms.
  • Assists in writing and editing content for various communication channels.
  • Other duties as assigned. 

Social Media Internship


As a Social Media Intern, you will have the opportunity to learn about the brand, vision, and history of RSL and understand the importance of how a professional sports organization works. Your primary focus will be social media. However, you will also learn to work with a wide array of assets including but not limited to paid ads, website design, writing, brand vision, graphic design, photography, and videography. You will further develop general critical thinking, problem-solving, time management, communication, and writing skills.

This internship requires a minimum commitment to working every home game at America First Field and Zions Bank Stadium. In-office hours are also required throughout the workweek to capture content, create social media plans, and track analytics.

Please note that the first RSL & Utah Royals home game of the 2025 season will be at the beginning of March or end of February. The season may run through November or early December.

RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE: 

  • Works directly with the Social Media Coordinator to create a content plan for Real Salt Lake, Utah Royals, Real Monarchs, Real Salt Lake Academy, and RSL Community social platforms. 
  • Manage season-long projects to create, develop, plan, and execute. 
  • Captures photos at RSL/Real Monarchs matches, training sessions, Community Relations events, etc. 
  • Tracks, analyzes and monitors social media analytics 
  • Creates written content for RSL.com 
  • Brainstorm creative ways to create content across social media platforms 
  • Assists on Real Salt Lake and Real Monarchs on matchdays 
  • Tracks emerging social media trends and platforms like TikTok  
  • Other duties as assigned.
