CLOSED Church Awareness and Coordination Internship

The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints Logo Image

The Communications Department of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is looking for a hands-on intern from August 2025 to April 2026. The internship is 20 hours a week. The position is hybrid with an onsite location at the Joseph Smith Memorial Building in Salt Lake City, Utah. Interns must be able to come into the office regularly and will work out their schedule with their manager.

Responsibilities: 

  • Share creative ideas of how to market content to the rising generation. 
  • Help create and coordinate marketing plans for department and enterprise initiatives, like the Church’s efforts for Christmas and Easter. 
  • Assist with writing copy for Church digital channels.  
  • Maintain meeting agendas and calendars to help manage execution of communication plans you will help to create 
  • Researches and stays up to date on content trends and audience behavior to help inform effective awareness or marketing strategies for channels 
  • Coordinate with professionals who manage Church social media, web, app, and email channels to share and sometimes develop content ideas.  

Qualifications:

  • Must be currently enrolled as a full-time student in an accredited college or university or have recently finished a degree from an accredited college or university within one year of the beginning of the internship. 
  • Excellent intrapersonal communication skills 
  • Strong ability to work with a team 
  • Strong writing and editing skills 
  • Experience with digital platforms like social media, websites, email, and apps is imperative 
  • Planning, organizing, and time management skills  
  • Strong attention to detail 
  • Experience with Microsoft Office and similar applications 
  • Applicants who are working towards a Communications, Marketing, Public Relations, or English major or minor are preferred.

Online Learning Technical Writing Internship

The Online Learning Technical Writing Intern plays a vital role in assisting users of online Seminary, Institute, and BYU Pathway religion courses. Support is provided through email, support tickets, and occasional virtual conference calls. The intern also contributes to writing, revising, and proofreading communications sent to Seminary and Institute employees worldwide. Additionally, they help develop and proofread technical resources for both internal and external audiences. The intern supports various projects assigned by the Course Support Coordinator.
