BYU Washington Seminar: Apply by Sept. 22 for Winter 2024

We are now actively accepting applications for the Washington Seminar Winter 2024 student group. We offer housing in a nice neighborhood in DC, credit packages, and internship funding grants to help offset costs. Internships are available in numerous areas of interest (not just political science). If you’d like more information or to apply, go to fhssinternships.byu.edu.

We are also accepting applications for internships with the following offices in Washington, DC for Winter 2024:

  • Senator Mike Lee
  • Senator Mitt Romney
  • Representative John Curtis
  • Representative Burgess Owens

 To apply to any of these, please email your resume, cover letter, two letters of recommendation, and a writing sample to lisa_peck@byu.edu.

Women's Foreign Policy Group Internships (Washington Seminar, stipend, Fall 2023)

The WFPG offers two different internship opportunities, one focused on program planning and one focused on communications. Applicants are welcome to apply for one or both internships. Applications for Fall 2023 are now open and are reviewed on a rolling basis with a deadline of July 28th, 2023. Early applications are encouraged. All internships are in-person in Washington, DC. Applications for Winter Semester will be due Nov. 28.

Internships with the National Museum of the American Indian (Smithsonian)

Apply by July 15 for Fall 2023. The National Museum of the American Indian (NMAI) Internship Program provides educational opportunities for students interested in the museum profession and related fields. Interns complete projects using the resources of the NMAI and other Smithsonian offices. Internships are an opportunity for students to learn about the museum's collections, exhibitions, programs, and methodologies, and to meet professionals in the museum field.

Internships with the International Rescue Committee (Washington Seminar or remote)

International Rescue Committee in Silver Spring, Maryland has started recruitment for Winter 2023 internships. The International Rescue Committee (IRC) was founded at the behest of Albert Einstein in 1933 to assist people fleeing from persecution. Since then, the IRC has grown and works all over the world providing humanitarian support. In Silver Spring, the IRC works with refugees the moment they step off the plane to help them get situated and become self-sufficient members of their new community.
