Assistant Radio Producer: Job ID 94556

Constant Wonder Producers will be responsible for working with teams to develop, research, and deliver live or pre-recorded programming. Brainstorm, pitch, find guests, and research and write content for radio/podcast that covers a wide range of material, from world history to NASA to wild animals. The job is fun but fast-paced. Students work with high degree of autonomy, but also accountability. Typically students in this position work 15 hours a week. Pay is $12/hour. Shifts are flexible.

Social Media Specialist: Job ID 97791

We are looking for a part-time student social media specialist with creative spark and a passion for the arts to join the award-winning external relations team for the College of Fine Arts and Communications. Student social media specialists aid the Assistant Dean of External Relations in social media efforts on Facebook, Instagram and Twitter, college and university campaigns, and with the college’s public relations efforts.

Radio Production Assistant: Job ID 98024

he Radio Production Assistant works on a variety of projects that relate to the production for Top of Mind, a high-profile show on BYUradio. The position requires flexibility and an eagerness to learn new skills and a commitment to meet deadlines. The successful candidate will be responsible for working with other team members to deliver live or pre-recorded programming.

Duties: 

Developing show content, which includes:

  • Finding relevant stories that fit the tone of a daily talk show focusing on current events, health, entertainment and technology
  • Finding guests to fit story pitches and booking them for telephone or in-person interviews.
  • Using excellent writing skills to prepare a setup for the interview that includes researching the topic and the guest.
  • Thanking guest after interview is complete.
  • Keeping upcoming story slots booked in weeks ahead and keeping within deadlines.
  • Occasional other duties may be assigned

Writer: Job ID 97797

Part-time student writer for the College of Fine Arts and Communications for the Summer. Aid the Assistant Dean of External Relations with writing and editing articles and other college communications. The writer will work on releases and features for BYU Arts and the six academic units within the college (Art, Communications, Dance, Design, Music, Theatre & Media Arts). Articles will focus on events and student and faculty experiences. These articles are posted on the college and BYU Arts websites. Recent examples can be found on cfac.byu.edu/news and arts.byu.edu/news. This position is ideal for journalism, PR or editing majors.

Special Sections Writer and Coordinator: Job ID 97827

The Daily Universe is looking for a writer for Universe publications like TWO magazine, the annual housing guide and the new student edition of the Universe. This employee will write new content, interview sources and fact-check material in a deadline-oriented environment. They must also use organization and leadership skills to ensure publications are produced before deadlines and at high quality. They may be given other assignments as needed. They will work directly with the Universe’s design manager, publication graphic designers, photographers and reporters.

This is a fun job that rewards initiative, teamwork, leadership and time management, an eye for detail, a sense of humor and the ability to write decent sentences. Each of BYUtv’s Marketing Managers are assigned a number of shows/properties within the network’s programming. They are responsible for coordinating and executing the complete marketing strategy for the assigned shows.

The purpose of this assistant role is to serve alongside one of BYUtv’s Marketing Managers to assist and collaborate on the marketing efforts for the assigned shows.

Church News Writer Internship, Winter 2025

The Deseret News is looking for talented seasonal student intern writers and copy editors for the Church News, which provides news, and information for members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Deseret News and Church News internships are paid ($14/hour) and last approximately 3-6 months in duration starting in January 2025. Interns will work with their supervising editors to determine exact starting and ending dates, and weekly work schedules. If time off during the semester is needed, that must be coordinated well in advance with the supervising editor.
