BYURadio has openings for a podcast producer and 3 writer/producers. These positions offer the opportunity to research topics, write scripts (and other content), and help produce live and pre-recorded radio programming.
Writer-Producer for BYURadio's The Apple Seed (JOB ID: 113622, 3 openings)
The Apple Seed is a storytelling podcast that creates a co-listening experience for parents and their tween, early teen children. Broadcast over all major podcasting platforms, Sirius XM, and local Utah stations, The Apple Seed creates engaging short audio dramas and is looking to staff a writer’s room dedicated to scripting and producing family appropriate media with a sense of adventure and fun.Student producers will pitch ideas, develop treatments, write scripts, offer feedback, and support production on original narrative audio dramas in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
• Work independently and as a team member in creating original content programming for web, broadcast, and podcast platforms.
• Communicate clearly and professionally to ensure quality production of show content.
• Assist in promotion of programs.
• While being hired for a specific production need, the needs of BYUradio may change and there may be other opportunities for other types of production.
Job Qualifications:
Students with excellent interpersonal skills, great writing skills, a good head for organization, a knack for storytelling, and an interest in radio broadcasting make the best candidates for work on the Apple Seed team. Students with screenwriting or playwriting experience are especially encouraged to apply. Applicants must coordinate school and work schedules to fill a regular shift to meet daily and weekly broadcast deadlines.

Assistant Podcast Producer for Constant Wonder on BYUradio (JOB ID: 104918)
Producers will be responsible for working with teams to develop, research, and deliver live or pre-recorded programming. Brainstorm, pitch, find guests, and research and write content for radio/podcast that covers a wide range of material, from world history to NASA to wild animals. The job is fun but fast-paced. Students work with high degree of autonomy, but also accountability. Typically, students in this position work 15 hours a week. Pay is $15/hour. Shifts are flexible.
