Working as an Editorial Intern for Salt Lake Magazine was the perfect storm of fun and extremely beneficial to my future career. At Salt Lake Magazine, they treat their interns as employees and give them ample opportunities to publish their writing. Every day I was in the office I was asked to write and publish blog posts for their website. I was also given the opportunity to write an article of my choice that was to be published in their official magazine, as well as a few other projects. Because it was an unpaid internship, they wanted to make up for the lack of pay by giving us free entry into concerts and events that the magazine was covering. I left that internship with a pile of published clippings for future employers, as well as a better understanding of how an editorial team functions. It was such a wonderful experience and I am extremely lucky to have worked at Salt Lake Magazine!
