Zions Bank Technical Writing Internship (Summer 2024)

Zions Bancorporation is seeking a Technical Writer Intern with experience creating technical documentation. The Enterprise Data and Analytics organization in Zions Bancorporation works on strategic products and initiatives that enable the business to leverage the value of its data. There are technical software components that need effective communication and education within the enterprise to increase adoption. This internship will be directly involved in building a digital portal that will pioneer how new initiatives will be marketed and educated within the enterprise.

What the team does:

The Integration team creates software and content that helps systems establish robust and reliable integrations with data hubs. The team creates features that help systems perform the integration work faster and easier. They create educational content to help the systems understand how to perform the integration. They work closely with systems to support end to end testing to ensure successful integration. Lastly, they help identify enhancements to the integration hubs that will help system integrations become faster, easier, and more reliable.

Who you are:

The technical writer will be embedded within the Integration team to create educational content for a digital portal that will help systems understand how to integrate with the data hubs. Some of the attributes you need to be successful in this role are:

Curious Learner – you love learning and strive to understand everything that comes your way. You want to understand, and you like to understand deeply.

Technical – you have a strong understanding of how the digital world works. You know about databases and backend platforms that enable today’s digital world.

Strong written Communication – writing is your strongest mode of communication. You can explain difficult technical concepts and understand how to design the contents to help users.

Design mindset – All of your designs begin with thinking about the user first. Strategy for every content is geared towards making it easy for the user to consume and understand the content.

Strong empathy – You have a deep understanding of your users, their needs and their obstacles.

Your experience and qualifications

· Experience in creating technical documentation for the purpose of instruction/education

· Experience developing content for websites

· Strong understanding of Information Technology

· Candidates will be pursuing a degree in technical writing and communications, instructional design and technology, educational psychology, or a related field

Location: This opportunity is located in our brand-new Zions Technology Center. We have a hybrid schedule of 3 days in the office and 2 days at home.
