The Utah Department of Transportation (UDOT) is dedicated to keeping Utah moving by innovating and maintaining our state’s transportation systems. We’re seeking a motivated and creative Social Media & Communications Intern to join our team. This role offers a unique opportunity for a local college student to gain valuable experience in public communications, social media management, and content creation.

Principal Duties
As an intern in the Communications Division, you will:

  • Assist in creating, scheduling, and publishing content across UDOT’s social media platforms (Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, etc.).
  • Develop engaging content.
  • Monitor and respond to comments and messages, fostering positive relationships with our online community.
  • Help execute social media campaigns that promote UDOT’s goals and initiatives.

Minimum Qualifications
In order to qualify, you must:

  • Be currently be enrolled in a degree program in Communications, Marketing, Public Relations, or a related field.
  • Be familiar with social media platforms and passionate about using them to communicate important information.
  • Have excellent written communication skills with an ability to create clear, concise, and engaging content.
  • Have the ability to think creatively while managing multiple tasks and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • A willingness to collaborate with UDOT’s communications team and contribute to our shared goals.

Here is some information you should be aware of:

  • Working Conditions - Risks found in the typical office setting, which is adequately lighted, heated and ventilated, e.g., safe use of office equipment, avoiding trips and falls, observing fire regulations, etc.
  • Physical Requirements - Typically, the employee may sit comfortably to perform the work; however, there may be some walking; standing; bending; carrying light items; driving an automobile, etc. Special physical demands are not required to perform the work.

Summer 2025 Internships at NASA

NASA’s Office of STEM Engagement (OSTEM) paid internships allow high school and college-level students to contribute to the agency’s mission to advance science, technology, aeronautics, and space exploration. OSTEM internships offer students an opportunity to gain practical work experience while working side-by-side with mentors who are research scientists, engineers, and individuals from many other professions. Internships may be full time or part time on a NASA center or facility.
