Duties and Responsibilities
- Under the direction of an experienced technical writer, you will interact with engineers and testers, gleaning knowledge of complex systems. Then you'll organize the relevant information so users can find the information they need when they need it. You'll make complex or difficult procedures easy to understand and follow, creating relevant illustrations.
- In addition to end-user documentation, we also handle engineering documents, reports, and other internal documents including legal and certification documents for product sign off. You'll do comprehensive editing for grammar and clarity. You'll reformat Word documents.
- You'll need to learn new software and pick up skills on the fly, particularly our authoring environment, Paligo.
Essential Education, Work Experience, Job Skills
- Currently pursuing a degree in English, technical communication program preferred
- Exceptional writing, editing, formatting, communication, and collaboration skills
- Ability to learn quickly, juggle multiple projects, and work to deadlines
- Ability to express ideas clearly and diplomatically
- Experience with the latest versions of Microsoft Word and Excel
- Knowledge of Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator preferred
- Experience with Docbook or XML helpful
