This 12-month internship position is in Salt Lake City, Utah and is fully remote, with an in-office option. Hours worked must be between the hours of 8am and 5pm, Monday through Friday. Hours worked will not exceed 20 hours per week. This internship position represents a unique and exciting opportunity to work with highly skilled professionals and contribute to the Lord's work in a meaningful way. The position is working with the Worldwide Broadcast Events and Scriptures Media teams within the Priesthood and Family Department, with offices located at the Church Office Building in Salt Lake City, UT. Some of the responsibilities of the Scriptures Team include assisting with the development of:
- Standard Works
- Scripture Media
- Scripture Promotion
- Digital Scriptures
- Scripture Stories
While working with the Worldwide Broadcast Events Team, the intern will be involved in Youth Worldwide Broadcast events and Primary Friend to Friend Broadcasts. Additional projects and duties will be assigned as the intern demonstrates mastery of assigned work.
RESPONSIBILITIES
The individual fulfilling this internship position would work under the direction of the portfolio manager to:
- Perform a range of staff and/or operational support activities; may serve as a liaison with other departments on basic administrative and/or operational matters.
- Manage and schedule calendar of appointments, meetings, and travel itineraries, and coordinates related arrangements; be able to anticipate and resolve scheduling conflicts.
- Assist with preparation for meetings, including formulating agendas, scheduling, finalizing, and sending meeting materials to attendees in advance.
- Organize, manage, and participate in online meetings using applications like Microsoft Teams and Zoom.
- Generate documents and reports, take meeting minutes, and conduct research.
- Assist in preparing and editing detailed presentations for executive leaders.
- Maintain polite and professional communication via phone and e-mail.
- File and manage key documents in an orderly and consistent manner.
QUALIFICATIONS
This position will provide valuable professional development experience in areas like product management, product development and business management. It is expected that the individual fulfilling this internship will be able to:
- 20 hours maximum per week
- Attend weekly in-office or virtual meetings
- Tuesdays 10am-11am
- Wednesdays 11am-12:30pm
- Thursdays 9am – 11am, 2pm – 5pm
- Other related meetings as needed
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (specifically, Outlook, Word, Excel, Teams and PowerPoint).
- Robust problem-solving skills: ability to make independent decisions, manage conflicting priorities and work calmly under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
