Riley Owen is the Republican nominee for Utah’s new First Congressional District. He studied at Princeton and Oxford before serving in the White House where he fought to create and protect American jobs. Riley is now an Intelligence Officer in the Navy Reserve and leads a wildlife conservation foundation that uses drone technology to protect endangered species from illegal poaching.
Riley Owen is running for Congress because he believes Utah deserves a representative who delivers. He is committed to real results: affordable housing, paid maternity leave, saving the Great Salt Lake, and keeping kids safe online.

ROLE OVERVIEW:
The Digital Media Intern assists with Riley Owen's social media presence and digital content strategy. You are responsible for ensuring consistent, on-message content across all platforms and driving real-time engagement with voters. This is a high-visibility role where your work directly represents the candidate.
The Digital Media Intern may be assigned to cover campaign events or filming sessions with the principle to capture content for use online. They will be responsible for the subsequent video and photo post-production needed to create content ready for distribution.
A background with content creation, video editing, social media management, or digital media is not required, but may be useful for those interested. Training and mentoring will be provided to ensure quality standards and brand identity is maintained.
CORE RESPONSIBILITIES:
Content Management
• Execute on the weekly social media content calendar created by the Social Media Manager—generating
ideas and messaging as appropriate.
• Post content natively to each platform (Twitter/X, Facebook, Instagram, YouTube) on a consistent dailyschedule
• Adapt messaging for platform-specific audiences
• Pull clips and graphics from campaign events, news sources, and others and convert them into social-ready assets within 24 hours
Real-Time Engagement
• Monitor Riley's mentions, tags, and replies across all platforms daily
• Respond to constituent questions and comments within 4 hours during business days
• Flag trending topics or breaking news that Riley should respond to and draft rapid-response posts forapproval
• Track which content performs (likes, shares, engagement) and report weekly
Analytics & Reporting
• Provide weekly reporting on reach, engagement, follower growth, and audience sentiment
• Identify top-performing content themes and adjust strategy accordingly
• Track competitor (Ben McAdams) digital activity and report on their messaging
Collaboration
• Work with social media manager and/or campaign manager to maintain message consistency with broader messaging playbook
• Coordinate with field team on event coverage and content needs
• Receive direction on messaging priorities and translate them to platform-specific content
Success Metrics
• Consistent daily posting across all platforms
• Average engagement rate above campaign baseline
• Zero message discipline violations (off-brand posts, contradictions to messaging)
• Rapid response (under 4 hours) to time-sensitive questions or trending topics
• Weekly reporting submitted by start of business Monday.
